Horseback riding at Gili Eco Villas Gili Trawangan
07 March 2024

She had always dreamed of riding a horse on the beach, feeling the wind in her hair and the sand under her hooves. She had seen pictures of Gili Trawangan, a small island off the coast of Lombok, Indonesia, where horses were available for rent. She booked a flight, packed her bags, and headed to paradise.
She arrived at the island after a short boat ride from Lombok. She checked in at her hotel, a cozy bungalow with a view of the turquoise sea. She couldn't wait to explore the island and find the horses. She rented a bicycle and pedaled along the dirt roads, passing by coconut trees, colorful shops, and friendly locals. She soon reached the north side of the island, where she saw a sign that said "Horse Riding".
She followed the sign and found a stable with several horses of different colors and sizes. She approached the owner, a man with a tan skin and a wide smile. He greeted her warmly and asked her what she wanted.
"I want to ride a horse on the beach," she said.
"Of course, no problem. We have many horses for you to choose from. Do you have any preference?"
She looked at the horses and saw one that caught her eye. It was a chestnut brown horse with a white star on its forehead. It looked strong and gentle at the same time.
"I like that one," she pointed.
"Ah, that's Lucky. He's a good horse, very friendly and smart. He likes to run fast, but he also listens to you. You will have fun with him."
The owner helped her mount Lucky and gave her some instructions on how to control him. He also gave her a helmet and a vest for safety. He told her to follow him as he led another horse by its reins.
They left the stable and headed to the beach. She felt a surge of excitement as she saw the blue water and the white sand. She smiled as Lucky trotted along, feeling his muscles move under her legs.
They reached the beach and the owner told her to follow him along the shore. He said they could go as fast or as slow as they wanted, but to stay close to him. He also warned her not to go too far into the water, as it could be dangerous for the horses.
She nodded and followed him as he sped up his horse. She urged Lucky to do the same and felt him accelerate. She gasped as they ran along the beach, feeling the wind in her hair and the sand under their hooves. She looked around and saw the other tourists watching them with envy or admiration. She felt like she was living her dream.
They rode for about an hour, stopping occasionally to rest or take pictures. She enjoyed every moment of it, feeling a connection with Lucky and with nature. She thanked the owner for his service and gave him a generous tip. She hugged Lucky and thanked him too. She felt sad to leave him, but also happy that she had fulfilled her dream.
She returned to her hotel, feeling exhilarated and refreshed. She decided to write a blog post about her experience, hoping to inspire others to try horseback riding in Gili Trawangan. She typed on her laptop:
"Horseback riding in Gili Trawangan is such an amazing activity to do in this beautiful island. You get to see the stunning scenery, feel the breeze, and bond with a lovely animal.
